I was at one of our church’s revival meetings the other night. We are praying for revival for our local church, the region, and the nation. As we were worshiping God in unity, the Holy Spirit began moving, and people began to have visions, impressions, and words inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. There is something about coming together in unity that is so powerful, and God honors it.
Acts 2 says when the day of Pentecost came,
they were all together in one place…All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. (emphasis mine)
Psalm 133 says:
How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!… For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
The Lord says in Matthew 18:19
Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. Jesus says in Matthew 8:20, For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (emphasis mine)
As we all came together in unity, praying and agreeing in the name of Jesus, crying out for more of Him, and for revival in the land, the Holy Spirit began to move and lead us in worship and in how to pray.
The main thing we have been getting from the Lord, not just confirmed last night but for quite a while now, is that God wants to do a deep heart work in the Body of Christ. He wants us to be open to Him and allow Him to come in and remove any junk, or issues. He longs to heal us and help us to forgive and get over things. Why? So that we will fulfill the commandment Jesus gave us in John 13:34-35 Jesus says,
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this, all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (emphasis mine)
The Lord also said we need to learn how to work as a team in unity through the Holy Spirit, and this cannot happen without His love for one another. Love is Key. We cannot keep refusing to deal with our issues as the Church (inward) and insist on just going (outward) to the world because these commands are meant to go hand in hand, not one over the other. I go into more of what the Lord showed me on this in my YouTube video here.
Even the enemy can do signs and wonders, but how will others know it’s the Lord? They will know by His Love working through us. What will attract them? His Love. What will make them stay once they get here and become dicipled and rooted in His Word? His Love. And how will they know that it is God’s love, not what the world has to offer? According to Jesus, “…all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
